Multinational semiconductor and software design company ARM has grown to be one of the most successful in its field, ranked as the third most innovative company in the world by Forbes in 2014; a year when it also shipped 12 billion ARM-based chips. The organisation, headquartered in Cambridge, has been named as one of Britain’s best employers. Part of its strength lies in its strategic collaborations, for instance with Microsoft, and a $5m research partnership with the University of Michigan. Arm Holdings also has a strong corporate governance programme, and works with others including the Business Disability Forum, Caring for Climate and the United Nations Global Compact.
